Basilica of Mt Mary
The current neo-Gothic stone façade of the Mt Mary’s Church with its twin spires was built in 1905. But the church itself goes back to 1640, when it was built by Portuguese missionaries. It is believed that all wishes made before the life-size statue of Virgin Mary come true, provided you light a candle shaped as your wish. The stalls outside which sell candles in the shape of ships, legs, computers to cars could be of help.
